007 ring off the hook和ring down the curtain

形容生意实在太好，销售额大涨，英文中有一个形象的表达，叫ring off the hook。

如：Our business is booming, and the phone rings off the hook all day.（我们生意太好，销售额大涨。）

这句话从字面上就很好理解，我们可以想象成生意特别好，于是电话响个不停，电话听筒都要震一下（off）听筒架（hook）了。

另外，ring和down结合在一起，变成短语ring down，后面再跟the curtain（窗帘），就是中文中的“降下帷幕”。如：I plan to ring down the curtain on my career.（我计划结束我的职业生涯。）
