Foreword

According to the requirements specified in the Plan for Revising and Developing Professional Standards in 2007（Document Number:［2007］No.1415）issued by the General Office of National Development and Reform Commission，this specification is revised by its development team based on wide and intensive investigations and studies made，practices summarized，comments requested as well as references to international codes and advanced foreign standards.

This specification comprises 9 chapters.

Main technical contents of this specification include the structure，principles for material selection，structure design and requirements for fabrication，trial assembly，preparation for shipment，installation，inspection and testing of trays.

This specification is revised based on the Design Specification for Tower Trays in Petrochemical Industry（SH 3088-1998），and main revisions include:

—Restructure of chapters of SH 3088-1998.

—Supplement the contents related to stainless steel and nickel-copper alloy trays.

—Supplement and modification of the corrosion allowances for the component parts of the tray.

—Supplement and modification of the design loads and allowable stresses for the component parts of the tray.

—Adding equations for calculating the stress and deflection of tray floor and support beam.

—Supplement of the requirements for height limits of major beam and minor beam.

—Adding Chapter 6:Fabrication.

—Adding Chapter 7:Trial Assembly and Acceptance.

—Adding Chapter 8:Preparation for Shipment.

—Adding Chapter 9:Installation，Inspection and Testing.
